Yes, I have negative traits - So what?

So today's post is kinda inspired by this website:

 http://www.gurusoftware.com/GuruNet/Personal/Factors.htm

It practically lists out many of human's positive and negative traits! - In other words, it basically lists out what is socially accepted as positive traits and the negative traits that should be avoided! My question is, who classifies these things?! Why is a particular trait positive or negative?

Unfortunately, I have no answers to these questions! But, what I am going to do today is, pick out a few of the traits listed in the website mentioned above and try to prove to you that possessing some of so called "negative traits" is NOT BAD at all! - But of course, you are the judge here! If you disagree with me on any of these points, do leave comments below! =)

1) Decisive (positive) and Indecisive (negative)

People keep saying that we should be decisive about EVERYTHING...I agree that being decisive is good in a way but that doesn't mean being indecisive is bad! Being a Libran, apparently I am born indecisive which I don't disagree to! I AM INDECISIVE! I take time to decide on even trivial matters but that doesn't mean I am inefficient!

Being indecisive can sometimes be fun! Back when I was in UK, my friends and I went out for winter boots shopping in the biggest mall in Europe! I saw a few boots which I liked but I couldn't decide (duh!)...So, we kept walking and looking around! But of course, I ended up buying the boots I saw in the 1st shop!...We may have been super tired, but it was a fun moment! Til today, we talk about it and have a good laugh!- It gave us a chance to spend time together! - We laughed at each other, got a little bit of scolding from my friend (out of love of course!) and took photos!

If I were decisive, shopping time would have had spent maybe about 3 hrs tops! But, since I was indecisive, I had my lovely friends to myself for the WHOLE DAY! (Now, how can that possibly be a negative outcome?! *winks*)

THE boots! =D
2) Accept what is given (positive) and Rejects/Ignores what is given (negative)

It's true that you have learn to accept what you have and appreciate what is given to you!... But is it ALWAYS good?...My answer is no! If you always keep accepting what is given to you, then how are going to improve in life? Sometimes, you gotta grab what you deserve! You gotta demand for it! Like the saying 'Knock, and the door shall open, Ask, and you shall be granted'...Certain things in life just doesn't fall on your lap! You gotta fight for it!

3) Change (positive) and Resist change (negative)

I am a firm believer of the saying 'Nothing is constant except change!'...I don't deny the fact that change is good! Change brings development and improvement!...But there is also good in resisting changes! People try to change others for their own convenience...Sometimes, people are so bothered about what others think! Trying to change oneself to impress others and just to be socially accepted - Is this change good? You be the judge of that! Don't change yourself cause someone says so! Only do it if it feels right to you! If you allow people to change you then you live a life of a piece of clay, for humans think for themselves and make their own decisions!

4) Not jealous (positive) and jealousy (negative)

Jealousy is the most common trait which is almost always classified as negative trait! Yeh maybe it is! But, a little jealousy can bring you a long way! It could be used as motivation! When someone achieves better than you at work, school or life, use your green-eyed monster to climb that ladder of success! If you use it wisely, jealousy brings success and improvement in life!

5) Serious (positive) and silly (negative)

Being serious is important - sometimes! But, if you are always serious about everything, then you will be left with white hairs, wrinkles and most probably depression. We should be silly once in a while. Be spontaneous and laugh out loud! Don't hold yourself back because you are in public! If anything, your silly laughter brings joy to others or maybe a little jealousy (then again, a little jealousy = motivation!)... So don't always be serious, be happy and cease the moment!

Of course, this doesn't mean you have to disregard the positive traits! Be balanced!

Don't try to be perfect! - Life doesn't come with a manual! Do what makes you happy and for once don't wonder about what others may think about you! It's not your job to please people!

Life, like law, has no right or wrong answers! Be yourself and remember that some of your negative traits CAN bring positive results - if you use them wisely! *winks*

Your Inner Child! - Don't kill her!

Whether you are 15 or 45, you have an inner child! As you age, your maturity grows and your inner child starts to disappear! That's when you hear people tell you "You have turned out to be wise and mature!"... For the record, I hate those words!

Who says being mature is always good? Who says losing your inner child is a good sign? I guess it's the way you look at it. I mean, everyone is entitled to their own perspective! Let me share mine.

I think it's okay to be a child once in a while - Even if you are 80! You get to forget about problems whether its in terms of finance, family or studies!... Take a break from your hectic lifestyle! Take a moment to unwind and let yourself go - Scream and throw tantrums!

I have heard people say "You are too old to be watching cartoons!"... That's just wrong! You are never too old to watch cartoons! My personal favourites: Tom and Jerry, Flinstones, Dexter's Laboratory and practically all Disney cartoons!...I am 22 and I still watch cartoons and I am proud of it!...I am proud to know that I didn't let that inner child in me die!.. She will always be there - through thick or thin!

Why is it good to keep your inner child?
Well, when you lose the inner child in you, you lose your imagination!... Remember when you were a child, you could see opportunity in every single detail? Rulers were your swords! The clouds in the sky are never just clouds - they are elephants, babies, tortoises or rabbits! A child's imagination is an incredible gift!... We were are born with it! -  Some of us choose to keep it and others choose to throw it away! Well for me...I am definitely keeping it!

You will hear people say "You are childish! You should grow up!" - Don't listen to them because:

Growing old is mandatory, growing up is optional!

If you keep the child in you alive, you feel alive! - Life will be full of smiles, laughter and joy (Just like your childhood!)

So, try it today! Don't suppress your inner child! Unleash him/her!: Watch cartoons, throw tantrums, eat ice cream out of the tub and be clumsy... You can even be Superman if you want to, for imagination has no limits!

Finding love! - Overrated?

The only topic that stays fresh and never fade away is people finding love! Women, men, teenage boys and girls....even kids (around 9 or 10 yrs old) are now keen to find their "soul mate"... I mean what's the rush?

My advice:
Before searching for love, appreciate existing love around u!
Love between a man and woman is not the only form of LOVE!...There's love everywhere when u think about it!

1) Mom's love: She may not utter the words 'I LOVE YOU' all the time, but there's always love in the food she cooks for you and the chores she does for you! Appreciate that!

2) Dad's love: You may see him just as an ATM machine...the notes of money he gives u is not just paper...it's love!...He doesn't give you coz he HAS to!...He gives coz he cares! Appreciate that!

3) Sibling's love: Yeah, we fight!...we fight for the remote control, the wardrobe, which side of the bed we get to sleep in etc...We call each other foul names!..We fight til we physically hurt each other!...but there's always love in every of those bruise! Appreciate that!

4) Friend's love: You may think we are only good for camwhoring and gossiping!...But, we care for each other!... We know when something's wrong... We motivate each other and climb the ladder of success together! Appreciate that!

5) A dog's love: He may not be able to speak in a language u understand... His barks in the middle of the night may annoy you... But, he never fails to make you smile the moment you enter your house! He jumps, licks and wags his tail...even if you left him all alone for the past 2 days!- That's love! Appreciate that!

6) A teacher's love: They scold you...you feel tortured when they give a pile of homework...You especially feel irritated when they complain about you to your parents!... But they only do it for your own good!... coz they care about you! Appreciate that!

7) God's love: He is always there for you! He may give you problems but nothing you can't handle!...He does that only to show you how strong you are!...Because you are his child and he loves you!... You may not be able to see him but you definitely can FEEL him! Appreciate that!

And remember to love YOURSELF! No one knows you better than yourself! If you don't love yourself, who else would?!

So for those of you who keep whining about not having "love" in your life or no one to share your life with!... Just look around you!...There are people just waiting for you accept their love!... Appreciate those around you!... Your true love and soul mate is somewhere out there...It will happen when its supposed to happen!... Meanwhile, take in the love and be happy!

Appreciate the simplest things in life! - It may be simple but it could make a big difference! (And, I'm not only talking about food!)

Accomplish!

What's the best feeling in the world?.....Some say its when you spend the whole day with your loved one...Some say its when you get to eat however much you want without getting fat!...Some even say the best feeling is when they get to sleep 12 hrs a day without their dads waking em up every 2 seconds (Well yeah, sometimes!)

For me, the best feeling in the world is when I know that I have accomplished something - No matter how small my achievements are... It could be just cleaning my room, cooking a nice dinner or even if I only got to finish 1 chapter of Civil Procedure! - It may not be much but I know I'm heading in the right direction.

Of course, the bigger the achievement, the more awesome the feeling!... Remember your graduation day or the day you won some competition and your family is in the crowd clapping and cheering for you? Yeh, those memories are the rewards of your accomplishments! That's the moment you recall all those sleepless nights, the sacrifices you made and all the hurdles you went through...You smile and tell yourself  "That was soooo worth it!".

The feeling of having accomplished something is awesome!...But, the journey? - Not so much! (Kinda sux actually!)

Well, you can't have the pearl without diving in the sea, look for the right oyster and actually opening it right?... So, dive in and search for the best way to achieve, don't hesitate and give it all you have!... It will all be worth it when get your 'pearl'!

Never give up on something you can't go a day without thinking about! =)

'Desserts' is 'Stressed' backwards!

Desserts are a student's best friend.... Stressed up, emo, depressed, lost all purpose in life?... Gobble up a piece of cake (Western style) or if you have a tongue for Malaysian delicacies, go for some Ais Kacang or Cendol!

Cendol! *yummeh*

*nom nom nom*

As for me, I stuffed myself with some delicious desserts - Western style! Thanks to my dearest housemate and her family! (Just a little perks of having friend's parents over for a visit!)

These are the pics I took of today's desserts:

Bread pudding! - good but not as good as Van's! (especially with some smarties sprinkled in em)

Chocolate balls! - Super sweet, chewy and chocolatey! *heaven in mouth*

Stressed? Turn it backwards and savour some awesome possum desserts - After all, 'Desserts' is 'Stressed' backwards!
